Frequently Asked Questions
What is Beef Tallow?
Beef Tallow is a traditional cooking fat made by slowly rendering beef fat. It has a high smoke point, rich flavor, and long shelf life, making it a staple in old-school kitchens and modern carnivore diets alike.
What can I cook with it?
Pretty much anything! Tallow is perfect for frying, roasting, searing, and sautéing. It adds depth and richness to potatoes, burgers, eggs, veggies, and even pie crusts.
Why use tallow instead of other oils?
Tallow has a high smoke point (~400°F) and is stable at high heat — no toxic breakdown like seed oils. It’s also naturally rich in healthy saturated fats and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).
Does it taste beefy?
Not really. Ours is carefully rendered to create a neutral cooking fat with just a hint of savory flavor — nothing overpowering.
How do I store it?
Tallow is shelf-stable at room temperature for up to 12–18 months. Refrigeration prolongs the life of the product.
Is it keto, paleo, or carnivore-friendly?
100%. Tallow is pure fat — no carbs, no sugar, no junk. Great for high-fat diets.
Where is your tallow made?
All of our tallow is rendered and packaged in Indiana.
